Mich and I were supposed to go to Tagaytay last Saturday but we decided to postpone the trip to Sunday and check out a restaurant in Shangrila which was recommended to me by several friends already. The name of the place is Claw Daddy and you can find it on the 5th (or 6th) floor in Shangrila mall. It’s just beside the cool Starbucks with the open air hang out place. I didn’t have high expectations for this place but man oh man was I in for a surprise. Claw Daddy is undeniably one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long while.

And Little Mermad said Ursula was the real terror of the sea folk. Lol!
QUICKIE FACT SHEET
Name: Claw Daddy
Location: Shangrila Mall
Type: BBQ & Grilled Food
Price Range (per dish): P300 – P1300
Yes, it’s a bit pricey if there’s just the two of you. Note that the giant platters that cost more than P1,000 can feed more than 3 people so that’s actually not a bad deal. Besides, the food is just… heavenly. Complete review after the jump.

We ordered two dishes – the Seafood & Crab Boil (P1,200) and the Baby Back Ribs (P400). We wanted to make sure that we get a taste of their two most famous offerings. Claw Daddy’s Seafood & Crab Boil comes with a gigantic platter of seafood consisting of: sweet corn, clams, potatoes, Hungarian sausages, crab, shrimp, and lobster. You also get a pitcher of a drink of your choosing as well as two orders of Clam Chowder soup. Not really a bad deal for P1,200. Mich and I had a grand time pigging out on this dish. It’s a good thing that the waiter gave us several hot towels because there was no way in hell that we would enjoy this using the traditional spoon and fork.
Except maybe for the clam, all the viands in the dish were fantastic. For those who want to have a heart attack, the shrimp and crab still has their eggs on them. Note that for the shrimps, there will be 2-3 big ones and the rest are the common normal-sized shrimps. As for the crab, it’s just superb. The meat is fresh, soft, and just juicy. The lobster also isn’t too big but it really tastes oh so good! I think they marinated it in some special sauce or something since the flavor really comes out once you put it in your mouth.

Next up we have the Baby Back Ribs. It comes with two side dishes. We ordered the mashed potatoes and the coleslaw. No regrets here my friends since they all taste excellent. The meat on the ribs is just soft enough for you to slice without a knife and it is juicy enough that it will make your mouth water while looking at it. The mashed potato also deserves some credit because it’s not your typical potato with gravy. The actually mixed it with some herbs making it taste more than the average side dish.

Claw Daddy is the first restaurant that merits a perfect score for me. The customer service was also notable. Rod, our waiter, was there to attend to our every need. He even went as far as to explain the origins of the restaurant and engage us in light banter about the food.
This restaurant is perfect for family, dates, barkada get-togethers. It’s actually good for all occasions. Again, let me reiterate, it looks pricey but if you share the platters you’ll actually spend around P250-P500 each. Not bad if you ask me since you’re paying for the complete dining experience.
Claw Daddy is a certified Wauks Food Trip Favorite.
I will definitely come back here sometime soon. Well, when I get more cash. Maybe on pay day. Lol.

By the way, their coffee was also great.

i might consider this resto for my bday, problem is my siblings are vegetarian :p great food blog ah, ito yata ang mas ivview ko na blog mo, haha!
Yeah.. it’s really good!.. one of our Chefs at UP Diliman is responsible for its great taste! hehe! She’s no other than Chef Annali Mariano. She works for the R&D Dept. Try bluefish too at Eastwood mall! It’s one of their “sister companies”… ^_^
Bro just want to ask… lobster ba yung nasa pic? Mukhang Ulang(freshwater shrimp with big head and pincers) lang kasi eh… if they say it’s lobster then there must be something wrong.
hope you don’t mind me wanting confirmation

Hope you try their Bonifacio High Street branch and tell us about the service.. I had a very bad experience when I was there with someone I wanted to impress, he he… Most of our orders didn’t come until a second follow-up (yes, I meant order once, and then twice follow-up)… And when the bill came there was an item which wasn’t ours. Of course I complained. But instead of updating our bill, the poor waiter gave us cash, saying ‘It came from his own wallet’ since the people who oredered the dish already left…..
sana ndi n lang nilagyan ng potato and sausage ngmukha tuloy basura ndi po kc akma ok n sana.. jejejeje comment lng po… mahal nmn tinda nio
