Italanni’s

Mich, Faith, and myself treated ourselves to an expensive lunch during the recent holiday. We trooped over to Itallani’s at Tomas Morato for some pasta, chicken, and fish. Armed with lots of cash (lol), we went over, parked the car, and went in the restaurant. Upon opening the menu, we were pleasantly surprised to see a “promo” package which basically is a platter with different kinds of pasta already. There was also another platter which had Chicken, Fish, and Baby Back Ribs! Yummeh.

Complete review after the break.

First up we have the Mangiamo Platter. It’s a gigantic dish that has herb roaster chicken, grilled pepper fish, and braised baby back ribs. It’s a bit pricey though at P695 but this dish can easily feed 4 people. There were 3 of us when we ate this and we weren’t able to finish everything, hahaha! Among the three viands in the platter, the one the really got my attention was the grilled pepper fish. It tasted so good especially with the sauce. I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to order a solo serving of the grilled pepper fish next time I go to Italanni’s. The herb roasted chicken is also okay but it’s not something that will make me come back to Italanni’s. Same comment goes for the baby back ribs.

Next is the Pasta Trio Platter. It has classic lasagna, creamy fettuccine alfredo, and pesto. This will set you back P595 but again it’s good for 3-4 people. One thing about Italanni’s pasta is that it’s sooooooo heavy on the stomach. I mean, you can have like 5-6 spoonfuls of pasta and already feel full – especially if you take the lasagna. Anyway, I loved all three dishes and would definitely order this if I went here with a group of friends. :)

Before I go to the summary, let me just say that the customer service and the restaurant cleanliness was just superb! The waiter who served us was very courteous and really made it a point to make us feel welcome. The place was also spotless and the decorations were good.

This restaurant is for groups of friends or romantic dates. The atmosphere is good for romantic dinners. My only concern really is the price. I still don’t feel that it’s worth every single peso for the food that we’re getting.

wow, im actually surprised that you gave this resto a good review Carlo. I’ve been consistently disappointed with the service and food quality I’ve been getting in Italianni’s for the past year and a half that I’ve “boycotted” that resto in my “places to eat” list.

Buttt, you made the restaurant sound good, might as well give it another try. LOL.
