No, this is not a restaurant review. There is no John’s Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich place… yet. Our good friends from church – John and Jean, invited Mich and myself over for some good old fashioned home-cooked lunch. I was expecting the usual food like Sinigang, Tinola, or Linaga. I wasn’t expecting that John could actually cook up his own Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich that could actually beat Elbert’s Cheesesteak which costs P390 bucks!

John’s Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
Find out how good this baby tasted after the break.
John did a superb job on this sandwich. The meat quality was really good since it was sirloin. The onions were sweet and juicy, which made the flavor of the steak and cheese just jump out once you take a bite. Also, if you haven’t noticed by now… the sandwich was huge. You could cut this thing up and feed 3 people easily. I was so full halfway into the sandwich!

Before the Cheesesteak, they also served as scrumptious Chicken Fingers. Man, this trumps all the Chicken Fingers I’ve ever had before… well maybe save for Mich’s brother’s version. Martin can really cook insanely good Chicken Fingers that will probably sell millions if re-produced and sold in restaurants, hahaha. Here’s a picture of the Chicken Fingers to wet your appetite.

Thank you again to John and Jean for the heavenly food and the good company. You guys rock and I hope you invite us again, hahaha! John, this is a gift that you have. You should really consider setting up a restaurant or a catering service.

Here’s a link to another post on my personal blog about this lunch. I had actually had a lot of realizations over lunch! Hahaha!

hey that looks pretty good! thanx for sharing!
I love, Cheesesteak Sandwich. I usually get mine at Chili’s and BrotherS Burger. Chili’s version called, the Chili Cheesesteak, has roasted bell peppers while BrotherS Burger’s version, the BrotherS Cheesesteak, is made using their hamburger buns instead of a long roll. I haven’t tried Elbert’s Cheesesteak yet or tried to make my own.
If something is unique or notches above the rest, it’s definitely worth building a business around it. If your friend John ever opens up a business and serve John’s Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches, I’ll be one of the first customers.
Awww, I’m so kilig naman for John with this entry
Thank you, that WAS a great day noh
That sandwich looks better, color-wise than Elbert’s. Does it taste better too? If it is, then maybe you should convince John to open up his own Cheesesteak Sandwich store?
I will be looking forward to it!
