I used to be a big fan of donuts, especially during my high school years. I was really psyched up back then when I found out that Krispy Kreme would be coming to the Philippines. Fast forward a couple of years and here we have several branches already scattered all over the metro. If there’s one thing I’ve noticed that they do really well, it’s how they locally market their offerings. I remember seeing UAAP-themed donuts being sold. That definitely expanded the donut market here in the country. Now they have a new thing going on called the Krispy Kreme FaveFan promo.

The promo is actually very simple. All you have to do is to submit a photo with a 72 (or less) caption that answers the question “How has Krispy Kreme made your life special?”

For me it’s easy. I remember celebrating an Ateneo victory with some of my officemates. I dropped by Krispy Kreme in High Street, bought several boxes of the Blue/Ateneo themed donuts, and gave it away to everyone in the office - especially to my office mates who came from DLSU. Nyahahaha! Sadly, I can’t find the picture of that moment. I’ll upload it once I find it on my iPhoto libraries.

Anyway, what’s to win in the contest? One winner will be chosen per country and the lucky guy will get 12 dozen doughnuts and will be flown to the Krispy Kreme headquarters. There the country winners will design their own doughnuts and there will be a public voting. The winner will then be sold at retail in April 2010.
