It’s been a while since I last posted here! Sorry to everyone for the absence. I’ve been very busy for the past few months. I’ve set up my own Marketing Consultancy Firm and I’ve also been working hard at my new job at Friendster Inc. Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that I’ll be resuming this blog again. I’ve compiled tons of pics and reviews of restaurants that I’ve been to in the past few months and I’m really excited to get this blog up and running once more. To kick things off let me share with everyone a really quality and affordable authentic Chinese restaurant that Mich and I fell in love with – Maki House.

Maki House’s Maki (Sticky Pork Soup)
Maki House serves traditional chinese cuisine. I’m not Chinese but I can definitely appreciate good and affordable food any day, haha! Mich and I ordered their house specialty, Maki (Sticky Soup with Pork), Fried Rice, and their Siomai. First let’s discuss the Maki. There are two variations, one with noodles and one without. Since I’m not a fan of the noodles, we went with just the normal version with soup. The large order just costs P115 and it can easily feed two people. The soup is sweet and sticky and the pork is cooked just right. This goes really well with the fried rice, hehe!
What really got my attention though was their Siomai! No, let me correct that… it should be SIOMAI!

Giant Maki House Siomai
Obviously they didn’t “tipid” the Siomai, haha! It’s so huge! I can’t imagine a more satisfying Siomai-Rice meal than ordering this and extra rice at Maki House. Note that this just costs P80 for 4 pieces. It’s actually P20 per piece with a minimum order of 2.
Here’s a picture of me and Mich with one of the owners, Victor Tan.

I’d gladly eat at Maki House over Chow King or your run-of-the-mill chinese fast food restaurants. Congratulations to Victor and the rest of the management for a successful launch in their new branch at Scout Tobias!
For those who want to go there, just head down Timog going towards QAVE and turn left when you see Mcdonalds. Maki House should be at your right.
